Look at us! Being together for 10 days. I don’t know about you, but this is very exciting for me. People constantly told that I was supposed to blog everyday when I was in London to keep them updated, but I can tell you for sure that no one would have read about every single day. (Okay, maybe my mom.) So to think that I am finally giving the people what they want just makes me feel like a D list celebrity. Kidding….sort of.
Since it’s day two I want to just say that every day this body offers a new challenge forcing me to learn something new about myself. I personally love learning, I think that’s one of the reasons I fell in love with dance, so the daily ‘challenge’ is kind of fun! I mean my elders constantly told me that I was supposed to get wiser with age so I guess it comes with this journey called life.
Well let me not drag out day two of the mini series, but I just want to say that I hope you guys are loving your bodies just as much as I am today!
Happy viewing!
EDIT: Today, just two days after the national holiday for Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King Jr, as I watched the Inauguration of the 46th President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, I am overjoyed to see what America can accomplish when we stop judging people based on the color of their skin. I will never understand why people hate me for something I had no choice over. I did not ask to be born a black woman, but it’s what I am and how I must navigate the world. Am I upset about it? No because I love me, but the fact that I am seen as a threat or less than a human because of it, is truly disheartening and unsettling. We constantly teach children to stop ‘judging a book by its cover,’ only to turn around and do the same with people. Let’s start practicing what we preach and become better people in a better America. With love, TBB!
